Is this monitoring my performance?
No. The engagement maps how work flows through your company's systems so processes can be improved: where time goes, which busywork can be removed, which ways of working are worth spreading. The output is a map of how processes run, not reports on individuals, and your activity is not recorded under your name.
Can my manager or flowscope see what I personally do?
Your activity is labeled with a stand-in identifier, not your name or email. That identifier is derived under a key only your company holds: flowscope keeps a copy only during setup and destroys it the moment your company starts capture, before any activity is recorded, so flowscope cannot connect any activity back to you. Within your company, mapping the identifier to a person requires a recovery key that only your company holds.
Will it start recording without me knowing?
No. The app opens on two cards, and they say plainly whether this computer is connected and whether anything is being recorded. Both read off until you sign in, and nothing is captured on your device before then. What is recorded, at the bottom of the window, lists what flowscope records and what it never records, whenever you want to check. After that, the flowscope indicator in your system tray shows whenever capture is on.
Does it record my screen, my microphone, or my keystrokes?
There is no screen recording, no audio, no video, and no webcam capture. It does not log your keystrokes either: typing shows up only as the final value of a field inside an approved application, plus named shortcuts such as copy and save, so the software cannot act as a keystroke logger.
Still screenshots are off by default. They exist only if your company separately contracts them for a narrow set of applications where nothing else works, such as terminal windows, and they pass through the same redaction as everything else.
Can it see my bank account, personal email, or health records?
No. Certain categories are blocked by design, override the approved list, and cannot be switched on by any administrator: personal banking, brokerage, and payment sites; healthcare portals; password managers; encrypted messengers; personal email; legal portals; and government services portals. Private and incognito browser windows are excluded, and your passwords are never recorded.
What does it record inside work apps?
Only activity inside the applications and sites your company put on its approved list, for example the ERP, the CRM, work email, and Excel. Inside that list it records structured events: what you click, how you move between screens, window and tab titles, the text you select or enter in fields, and how work moves from one system to another.
What about time I spend outside the approved apps?
It is recorded only as a span: that you were actively at your computer, and for how long. No application name, no titles, no content of any kind.
Separately, while your company is still deciding what to include, the bare name of an app or site that is not yet on any list can be reported once to your company's engagement admin, with no times, no duration, and nothing linking it to you. Apps in the blocked categories are never named anywhere.
What happens if I open a personal file in a work application?
A notification appears on your screen, and the flowscope window lists every file it has noticed. For roughly fifteen minutes you can mark the file personal. A file you mark personal leaves no record at all, not its contents and not any details about it; everything stays on your machine. If you let the window pass, the file is treated as work material for the engagement.
Can I pause it, or remove it?
Yes, and without asking IT. The Capture card in the flowscope window has a Pause control. It offers two hours by default, and capture starts again on its own at the end, so a pause you meant to be short cannot quietly become a week. You can also pause until you resume it yourself, and resume at any point from the same card. The system tray indicator is visible whenever capture is running and carries the same start and stop control, on in the standard setup (your company decides whether it stays available). And you can always remove flowscope yourself, without an administrator; uninstalling ends all capture and transmission.
Will it be installed on my personal devices?
No. It runs only on the work computers your company designates for the engagement. There is no phone or mobile version, and nothing is installed on a personal laptop.
Where does my data go, and is it used to train AI?
Sensitive data is masked in layers: passwords are dropped where you type them, sign-in tokens are stripped from web addresses, and sensitive numbers such as card and account numbers are masked on your computer before anything is sent. On flowscope's servers, a second automated pass masks names, addresses, and similar details before anything is stored.
All data stays in the United States, and it is never used to train any AI model. Your company owns the captured data and can request deletion of any individual participant's contribution at any time.
How long does this last?
Capture runs for a fixed window your company agreed before anything was installed, generally four weeks. When the window ends, capture stops and the software is removed.
